My Big Sister

I am going to miss you.

My earliest memories of you are being bullied and being told what to do, and being told off for doing stupid things.  Although I remember during the war when we went for a picnic by the river and we hired a punt.  One time Joan did not get the pole out quick enough and was left hanging on for dear life.

She was also instumental in me getting together with "Jock" (Hector) my husband.  I was at a fair with her and my friend Lorna and she said they look alright you should go with them!

She loved glass blowing and I remember making glass paperweight (with lots of help) with her at Caithness Glass.

Before Covid I have lots of happy memories of cruising with her - apart from the time someone thought I was older then her! Joan dined out on that one!  Also when we went ashore I would find myself talking to air as she'd disappeared into a shop.

I will miss her stubbornness, her sense of humour and her positive outlook for life.

RIP
